NOTD: Essence Boys Are Back in Town & Its Just a Little Crush

Ah Essence...  I have been lusting after their polishes for a long while and FINALLY discovered a shop just 15 miles from me that sells them.

Needless to say I did a little happy dance when I found the shop (good thing my dads as crazy as me and my mum's used to it or they would have me committed).

I was looking for their new Snow White collection and while they didn't have it they still had a fair few beauties.

This for example, a double ended nail polish with which you can create 3 looks, with a creme at 1 end, an overglaze at the other or you can combine the 2.

That's what I've done here, 2 coats of the creme - Boys are Back in Town with 1 coat of It's Just a Little Crush.  And oh my!  But I love this overglaze.  The creme is quite nice especially for the autumn/winter but the overglaze gives it a little lift from the (supposed) summer.

Have you tried anything from Essence?

  1. I love it! I've only had a few essence polishes, but they weren't my favorites. This is gorgeous though!

    1. I bought 6 as it was the 1st time I had seen them and this was the 1st I tried as I'm a sucker for an overglaze, it's quite nice xo

  2. Beautiful! I love Essence! The 3 in 1 is a great idea. I really want the Snow White Collection too, but I have no idea if where I live in the US is getting it...

    1. Even I struggle getting them, with it being a European brand they're not readily available in the UK but I contacted them and as there are a number of Irish companies within Northern Ireland they were able to point me in the right direction, it's just going out of my way to get them xo

  3. Hi I adore essence products but they are so hard to find. I live in NI and have been resorting to a Dublin day trip to get my fix - could you please tell me where you found them up here to save me such a long trip? Thanks :-)

I'm trying.

Hi! So I've been trying my damnedest to keep this blog going. And I'm not doing very well. I had drafted some posts a while back (which I will still go ahead and post). I never got round to posting them at the time because I had an iPhone and the app just didn't want to work for me.
I know theyre a little out of date but I hope you still find them interesting. So what's been happening since I last posted?  Well I met a guy (on Tinder of all places), we got engaged last November (I'll do a proper post on this), and we got marries this September!  We enjoyed a wonderful honeymoon in Japan and for the past month its been back to reality. I am going to change this blog a bit.  Before it could have always been classified as a beauty blog. Now I think it'll be more of an eclectic blog (by the way check out She's Eclectic one of my all time favourite bloggers). Anyway,  sorry about all the words and lack of pictures bit I hope to rectify that soon. Bye for now.

Money Smart Nail Art Competition Entry

Hi all!
Wow!  I'm really shocked, MoneySupermarket.com have invited me to participate in their Money Smart Nail Art Bloggers Competition.  This means I am in with the chance to win a prize worth £300, how amazing would that be!

Anyway for my regular followers you will know that I'm mad on leopard print!  So I thought what better design to do a tutorial on.
Materials Required: Base Coat - I use OPI Matte Nail Envy Selection of polishes - cremes are best for opacity but you can use glitters if you build them up Nail Art pen or Dotting Tool  Top Coat - I use Seche Vite

Paint your nails with the base coat to protect your nail from staining (I also find that Nail Envy encourages nail growth). *A good tip is before you start, wipe your nails with some nail polish remover, this is called squeaking the nail, it will remove any excess oil, making your mani last longer.

Paint your nails your chosen colours, any colours work but I've chose a few of the Barry M Gellies (which are c…

Pastel Polka Dots

Hello lovelies!
A lazy Friday night in resulted in playing with polish and with studs.

Polishes used: Lime Crime - Parfait Day Treasures By Tan - Gramma Cupcake

I was in the mood for some spring pastels to brighten up this horrid grey weather we've been suffering recently.

I added the studs as an afterthought, I was going to attempt some freehand art but I love how these turned out.
