NOTD: Hulk Inspired

Hi all!
This mani started out with me wanting to try my new Cult Nails polishes out and as it progressed I realised I had actually done a Hulk themed mani.
Green = Deal With It (3 coats) Purple = Charming (3 coats) Tips = Seduction (2 coats)
I love how Seduction and Charming go together, they are the perfect combo.

I also decided to try out Captivated (2 coats) but I used it on my toes to top OPI's Red Light Ahead... Where? (2 coats) I also added little fimo butterflies to each toe.
**Foot Warning**

Did you get any polishes in the recent Cult Sale?

"these are a few of my favourite things" Day 6: Stripes

Hi all!  Can you believe it's day 6 of the "these are a few of my favourite things" challenge?
Today we have Stripes and since I don't have a straight eye in my head I decided to use striping tape over a previous mani.
Sorry for the messiness I was sat doing this at 1am and glitter is never tidy, lol.  The glitter is Nails Inc Sloane Gardens from the recent QVC TSV.  The pics don't do it justice but it's LUSH! xo

(I took a wee pic with the flash so you could see the colours underneath)

NOTD: Pink Gradient

Hi all!
I'm still slowly but surely working through the hauls of polish I've bought recently and today I have 2 W7 polishes to show you.  Strawberry Daiquiri and Mirror Pink.
I decided to do a gradient with these thinking the metallic finish would contrast nicely with the "jucier" finish.
Thanks to Poundlands makeup sponges this is the look I acheived.

Thankfully the pictures don't quite pick up how messy this wound up being.  Normally I'm quite good at cleaning up but last night (I always do my nails at night even if I'm working til 11pm) I just had no energy.

"these are a few of my favourite things" Day 5: Polka Dots!

Hi there!  It's already day 5 of "these are a few of my favourite things" challenge and today we have Polka Dots!
I did think about going bright and funky but though I'd do something a wee bit different and go with more neutral and muted colours.
Hope you like it xo
*I think with the flash it helps to capture the shimmer of Covent Garden Ballet

NOTD: Sinful Colors Ombré

Hi all!
Something simple today, an ombré mani topped with Nails Inc Electric Lane.
I used Sinful Colors: Aqua All Mighty See You Soon Hot Spot Daddy's Girl
Turns out See You Soon is Darker than Hot Spot but it didn't look it in the bottle.
I really like ombré manis, how about you?

NOTD: Patchwork

Hi all!
I decided that I need to start trying all my polishes out so sat and looked through what I had and thought about what I could do.
I recently bought a few bits from MUA including these 3 polishes that we're only £1 each (as is most of their range with the exception of the "professional" range).
There are no names on the bottles but these are shades 4 - coral, 5 - light teal? And 23 - khaki.
I wanted to try something a bit different and remember seeing patchwork nails a while ago.
Basically I haphazardly painted the 3 colours on each nail, not worrying about being neat. Topped with a coat of seche vite. Then I used a black nail art pen to draw the lines and the stitches and topped with another coat of seche vite.
These remind me of Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas, hehe =)
I think it worked out fairly well. Have you tried this look before?

Best of British 26.8.12

Hi all!  I hope you enjoyed last weeks new feature.  And without further ado I bring you this weeks instalment.
The weather in the UK may have improved a little but not enough for Vic to justify running off to Cornwall to catch the surf. Instead she's made do with her Surfin' USA mani.
It's been KBShimmer Week this week at The Crumpet 5 polishes, but which was her favourite ?
Laura has been trying out stamping for the first time this week and was particularly fond of her classyblack and silver floral design.
PrettyKittyClaws has been making the most of the sunshine by copying The Crumpet with a Red Holo Dotticure. feautring Ozotics 518
Helly at the Nail Newbie got her holo on with a purple holo gradient featuring OPI DS Original!
Charlotte at Charlottes-nails has been catching up with the lazy days of summer challenge with a ruffle accent nail.
Alexis at Glitter Tips managed to overcome a nasty case of nail art block with a Black and Gold NOTD inspired by her j…

TOTD: Retro Polka Dots

Hi all! So I'm thinking this would have been a good pedicure for the polka dots day in "these are a few of my favourite things" challenge. But here we have them in a separate post.
The colours I've used I think are quite a retro combo that you might see in Austin Powers lol.
Orange - China Glaze Papaya Punch Green - China Glaze Four Leaf Clover Purple - Nails Inc Leicester Square

NOTD: Peacock Feathers

Hi!  I FINALLY tried my hand at doing some peacock feathers (I know some consider them bad luck but I think they are SO pretty!)
I must say I'm quite pleased with how these turned out.

I used: Essence Choose Me for the base China Glaze Cha Cha Cha & Four Leaf Clover for the feathers Nails Inc Bedford square for the feathers Nails Inc Lanesborough Place for the gold in the eye Nails Inc Kensington Park Road for the blue in the eye Nails Inc Black Taxi for the black in the eye
Hope you like this and I look forward to trying it in other colours xo

"these are a few of my favourite things" Day 4 - Favourite Food!

Hi there!  Today we have day 4 of "these are a few of my favourite things" challenge and the topic is Favourite Food!
I couldn't narrow it down to 1 so I've done a selection of my favourite foods, both savoury and sweet.
What are your favourite foods? xo
Thumb - cupcake Pointer - seafood fried rice with satay sauce Middle - hotdog with American style mustard Ring - watermelon Pinkie - jazzie sweets

*Just thought I'd show ya how I planned my nails out lol xo

NOTD: Foil Braids

Hey!  How are you all?  So today I thought I'd attempt the latest thing I've seen floating about and that is braided nails. Perfect chance as well to try out some polishes that have been sitting there (cuz I buy too many at once, lol.)
We have from the Color Club Foiled collection - Antiquated (rose gold), Perfect Molten (green) and Hot Like Lava (pink).
These were a great choice as they were all 1 coaters meaning I've not ended up with an inch thick layer of polish with trying to create the design.

I'll be the first to admit that with the exception of my thumb, they're not the best but I think it's a pretty fair first attempt lol.

Have you tried anything new recently?
