Nail Mail (and a wee bit of eye candy)

Ah if I wasn't smiling enough today (my friend had a baby boy yesterday AND I got to see Dr Peter Venkman aka Bill Murray in work last night) my postie brought me some fabulous mail today =D

Currently sat watching John Carter, the movie may have got slated but I love it and Taylor Kitsch is very easy on the eye ☺

Some OPI goodies from my fave ebay seller =)
I love the matte nail envy as a base coat and though you can't see it in the bottle this OPI Nothin' Mouse About It has little heart shaped bits of glitter in it, so cute!

I decided to give MUA a try out and with prices between £1-£4 who can say no!  I needed a new blush (I've fell out of love with my Benefit Bella Bamba after they made the box smaller meaning at £23.50 it wasn't lasting me even half as long) so got 3 to try, also who could say no to £1 nails polish and lippie!

Have you got any exciting mail recently?

NOTD: Nails Inc Holly Place & Noel Street

Today I'm showcasing another 2 polishes from the recent Nails Inc "All That Shimmers" set.

Holly Place - Pink
Noel Street - Gold

I have been lusting after these polishes since they were released and was THRILLED to find them at a reasonable price in a set.

2 coats was enough for full coverage and after the Bedford Square incident I used 2 coats of Gelous followed by 1 of Poshe and they are perfect.

If my ring finger looks a bit dodgy I'm sporting a break donors being held together using the good auld faithful teabag method.

Oh and not in any way nail related but how cute is my new cooling gel pack I got today in Poundland =D

The Summer Fun Challenge - Day 4: We Like It HOT, HOT, HOT!

Here it is Day 4 of the Neverland Nail Blog Summer Fun Challenge.

The theme - We Like It HOT, HOT, HOT!

I started with what most would classify as a summer theme, blue skies and sunshine.

I then decided to make it a typical British summer time and add some rain.

I also took inspiration from the weather we had on last night and added some lightening.

And finally lots of clouds.

Believe me when I say Northern Irish weather is even worse than mainland Britain at times.  Monday a night in the middle of June we had the craziest storm, thunder, lightening, torrential rain, hail stones the lot... in JUNE!!

Nail Colours
Base - OPI Fly
Body of sun - Nails Inc Carnaby Street
Sun rays - China Glaze Papaya Punch
Rain - La Colours Star Light
Clouds - Nails Inc Porchester Square

Can't wait to see everyone else's designs =D

Nail Mail

Some nail mail I received today =)

W7 mosaic, salt n pepper, lava flow,  strawberry daiquiri, mirror pink mirror. Plus free top coat.

These are dupes for the Nails Inc sprinkles but at a fraction of the price =)

NOTD: Nails Inc Bedford Square

This is 1 of the polishes I got in my recent All That Shimmers set from Nails Inc.

What makes this so special is its actually a new colour.

It's a full coverage glitter rather than a topcoat. I used 3 thin coats of polish though a 4th mightn't have hurt.

It's a very thirsty glitter and I probably should have used 2 coats of Gelous rather than 1.

This is no ordinary gold glitter btw, it's got a holographic glitter through it too.

Really pretty colour.

Nail Mail

On Thursday Nails Inc shared an offer on their facebook page (if it hadn't been for my lovely friend Kate I'd have missed it due to an impromptu nap).

2 sets available for 1 day only at the price of £15.00 each!

I bought the "All That Shimmers Set" with 5 full size glitter polishes.  The other set comprised of 8 mini's, it looked nice but I don't use mini's often.

This offer was well on par with the Lucky Dips offers Nails Inc regularly run =)

L-R
Bedford Square
Holly Place
Noel Street
Buckingham Street
Old Park Lane

I have been lusting after Holly Place and Noel Street since they were released at Christmas, it's only took me 6 months to get them (but that's my inner bargain hunter).
Bedford Square is a nice surprise as it has a holographic glitter through it which I hadn't realised.
Buckingham Street is such a vivid magenta.
Old Park Lane is my only dupe and will be going by into my "special box" for when I eventually have a giveaway.

Looking forward to swatching these to "watch this space."

NOTD: Gradient Dot Manicure

So while checking out blogs today I came across this manicure on Chalkboard Nails, I really liked it so decided to try it out for myself.

I wanted to try it with different colours though so I went with:
Revlon - Blue Lagoon
Color Club - Twiggie
Color Club - Pucci-licious

Mine's not even half as good but it's ok.

NOTD: Cult Nails Living Water

I have been trying to stick to bright nails to cheer me up considering the weather is so grim but I realised I hadn't done a full mani using Living Water yet and I'm going out tonight and I think it will be a pretty good match to the dress I am wearing.

I got this from the Cult Nails $5 sale a while ago.  It is described as a deep blue jelly polish with ice blue and emerald green glitter inspired by the phosphorescent sea-water.

Excuse my application, I did put it on yesterday but rushed it as I was heading to work so had to rectify it with another coat last night.

I wasn't sure how opaque it would be seeing as it's a jelly so I put 2 coats (then a 3rd) over 2 coats of OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui.

I purposely blurred the last picture so that you could see the shimmer in it.

What colour are you sporting today?

The Summer Fun Challenge - Day 2: Summer Lovin'

Here it is Day 2 of the Neverland Nail Blog Summer Fun Challenge.

The theme - Summer Lovin'

Automatically I start singing when I read this, big Grease fan!

So I had to share the video here.

This theme was the perfect excuse to try out some pretty new sparkly bits I found in my local Poundland and also for a PINK overload!

So here's the full set (the thumb reminds me of staring at the stars with a loved one)

I used 2 different sets of heart spangles on my ring and index.
My middle is a cupid heart and pinky a heart done in dots (though maybe should have used a darker pink)
I used NYC Pinstripe White as a colour base on all the nails.

Thumb - OPI Metallic 4 Life & OPI I Lily Love You

Pinky - OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui & OPII Have A Herring Problem (sponged) wirh OPI Pink Friday dots
Ring - OPI Come to Poppy & Be A Dahlia Won't You (sponged)

Middle - OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdam & OPI Fly (sponged) with OPI Be A Dahlia Won't You Heart & No7 black nail art pen outline
Index - OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips & OPI Pink Friday (sponged)

NOTD: China Glaze Riveting (with butterfly accent)

I was looking at the new OPI German collection today and the blogger showed a comparison between 1 of the new colours and china glaze riveting. Made me remember how much love this.

Such a bright, vibrant orange with a gold shimmer running through it.

At the last minute I decided to paint a coat of OPI Fresh Frog of Belair on my ring and thumb then I remembered some pretty little butterfly accents I got from poundland so I put 1 on my ring finger.

Love these =)
