28 DC - Recreate Your Favourite Day

Hi all!

Gosh, that's another challenge over =( this one has flew in (though it is a short month).  But don't worry I've already got another in the pipelines for March.

I decided to recreate Day 16 - Galaxy.  I ♥ Galaxy mani's!

Polishes used:
China Glaze - Blue Iguana
China Glaze - Sweet Hook
China Glaze - Aquadelic
China Glaze - Jamaican Out
China Glaze - Techno
China Glaze - Make A Spectacle

Normally I use a black base but this looks amazing with the blue (though unfortunately despite the use of my fave base coat my nails got stained =/ ).

*Showing off my new lace gloves =)

Look out for my next challenge ☺

Money Smart Nail Art Competition Entry

Hi all!

Wow!  I'm really shocked, have invited me to participate in their Money Smart Nail Art Bloggers Competition.  This means I am in with the chance to win a prize worth £300, how amazing would that be!

Anyway for my regular followers you will know that I'm mad on leopard print!  So I thought what better design to do a tutorial on.

Materials Required:
Base Coat - I use OPI Matte Nail Envy
Selection of polishes - cremes are best for opacity but you can use glitters if you build them up
Nail Art pen or Dotting Tool
Top Coat - I use Seche Vite

Paint your nails with the base coat to protect your nail from staining (I also find that Nail Envy encourages nail growth). *A good tip is before you start, wipe your nails with some nail polish remover, this is called squeaking the nail, it will remove any excess oil, making your mani last longer.

Paint your nails your chosen colours, any colours work but I've chose a few of the Barry M Gellies (which are currently 2 for £6 in Superdrug).

Wait until your nails are dry (you can speed this up with a fast dry topcoat if you wish) and with a different colour of polish, blob (for lack of a better word) some onto your nails (you need very little polish on the brush here or if you've got mini polishes these are ideal), I like irregular shaped blobs but you can choose to make it as irregular or uniform as you like.

Once these are dry (again you can choose to speed this up with a fast dry topcoat) get a nail art pen (I've chosen Models Own Nail Art Pen in Black, these are £6 from Boots or direct from the Models Own website) or a dotting tool dipped into some polish (you can either get these from ebay for a couple of pounds or create your own with a pin stuck into the end of pencil with an eraser, using the flat/rounded end or even a toothpick/cuticle stick) and start drawing round the blobs.  Don't go the whole way round, either do like a C shape or like a ( ) type shape round each.

To complete the look add some sporadic dots throughout the pattern and seal with a topcoat. *A good tip is to prolong your mani by oiling your nails first thing in the morning and last thing at night.  These oils can be picked up for £2-£3 or you can use the likes of olive oil that you have at home.

What's fun about this pattern is you can try any number of colour combinations and you don't have to do a full mani, you could just do it on your ring finger for example.

Well as this was my first ever attempt at a tutorial I hope it was easy to follow.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

NOTD: Red Rum, Red Rum

Hi all!

It's a red themed post today! Not a colour I often wear alone but with some fabulous new Glitzology glitters to work with it would be rude not too.

Polishes used:
OPI - Red Lights Ahead... Where?
Glitzology - Little Red Corvette
Glitzology - Sing Loud
Glitzology - Bad Santa

Each of the glitters is so different!
Little Red Corvette is pure red, red shimmer and different sizes of red glitter.
Sing Loud is a beautiful mix if metallic red glitter and gold glitter.
Bad Santa is perhaps the most vivid, a red shimmer with white hex and bar glitters.

I love all 3 of these for different reasons but I think Sing Loud is my favourite.

Please check out the fabulous Glitzology if you fancy any if these polishes or just go look at the AMAZING glitter bombs!!

Buddy is such a fun glitter!

28 DC - A Theme You Missed/Favorite Polish

Hi all!

I could have been adventurous and attempted the water-marble I missed on day 3 but "yeah, no..."
And since I'm trying to use all my China Glaze polishes I went with my favorite of their polishes.

Polishes Used:
Smoke and Ashes

Both from the Hunger Games collection which I loved!

28 DC - YouTube Tutorial/Tape

Tape manis are pretty and effective

28 DC - Tissue Paper/Rainbow

Hi all!

Today I had the choice between tissue paper and rainbows.  The tissue paper mani looked a bit faffy for my liking so I went with rainbows.  Which turned out to be equally as faffy.

Here's my attempt at a rainbow dotticure.

Polishes used:
NYC - Pinstripe White
China Glaze - Surfin' For Boys
China Glaze - Papaya Punch
China Glaze - Celtic Sun
China Glaze - Def Defying
China Glaze - Towel Boy Toy
China Glaze - Creative Fantasy
China Glaze - Fairy Dust

Wow!  That's a lot of polishes!  And henceforth the faffiness! LOL!

This is such a pretty, happy mani =D
Only downside is that even with Seche, it's taking forever to dry!

Sat-ART-Day: 1960s

Hi all!

Another Sat-ART-Day theme for you. Today we're looking at the 1960's.
First thing came to my mind was the fab patterns if the clothes - chequered and polka dot.

Polishes used:
China Glaze - Smoke and Ashes
OPI - Red Lights Ahead... Where?
Konad - White

I'm still learning at this stamping malarkey I think I'm slowly but surely getting there.

28 DC - Lightning/Bows

Hi all!

Today I chose to do bows for the 28 day challenge.

Polish used:
China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy
Black Glitter 3D Bow Decal

These bows were fab!  I got 60 of them in 12 different colours for less than £3.00 and they lasted a fair while.  The bow on my thumb got caught on something in work after about 4 hours becuase I was rushing but the one on my ring finger lasted about 9-10 hours until I was changing my mani... and... they were reusable!

Love this though as usual Flip Flop Fantasy was a nightmare to photograph.

China Glaze - Smoke and Ashes
Daily Lacquer - The Green Fairy

The Green Fairy is another stunner from the "All You Need Is Love" collection. A beautiful gold/green shimmer full of twinkling holographic golden glitter.

Just gorgeous!
