Delush Polish - Rebellious Ruby

Hello lovelies!

I love Delush Polish! I own nearly all of them except for a few from the first collection (my lovely friend Vicki owns them all).

A ruby red base with holographic glitters and golden squares and hexes.

Isn't this just scrumptious! It reminds me of Dorothy and her ruby slippers xo

Hello lovelies!

Day 27 - Inspired By your favourite Designer

My lovely friend Natisha has helped me by doing today's post. Polishes Used:
Disney Villains - Cruella de Vil
Nails Inc - Tudor Way
Nails Inc - Keats Grove
Barry M - Gold Foil
Models Own Nail Art Pens - Black/White

Daily Lacquer - Air Nomads

Hello lovelies!

Air Nomads is one of the ever lovely Maggie from Daily Lacquers polishes.

Copper, gold, red and blue glitters in a clear base. I've popped it over an unnamed Golden Rose grey.

This grey was rather scrumptious, 2 smooth coats was perfect and this was another bargain 1.50TL (about 50p).

Maggie is taking a break from making her polishes but I wish her all the best, send lots of love n hugs and hope to see her back soon.

Paris Sparkles - Midnight in Paris

Help lovelies!

I got this beauty when Paris Sparkles had a 5 for $25 offer.

Midnight in Paris is navy holographic glitter suspended in a navy jelly base.

I'm wearing 2 coats of it over an unnamed Natty polish in navy (see below)

Doesn't it look well with my gorgeous new mother of pearl rings.

And hers the bargain undies. This natty polish is a 1 coater and only cost me 1TL. That's about 30p!

I hope Paris Sparkles do another special offer (when I have the funds) as I'd happily buy more if their stunning polishes. Xo

VV Challenge - Day 25: Inspired By a Memory

Hello lovelies!

I hope you're enjoying all these lovely guest posts, I've got some very talented friends.

Today's post is Inspired by a Memory and it's from my lovely friend Louise. These are some nails she done for Holy Week, Louise is a Reverand and her congregation always look forward to seeing what's on her nails xo

"Ahhh! Nearly forgot to post my Easter Sunday nails (which didn't quite work out through lack of time quite as i planned!) The original nails were rays of light bursting from Christ's tomb... went so wrong! So this is now all about the power of deep transformations at work. Today is all about a depth of hope and new beginnings. Happy Easter everyone!

Holy Saturday nails. Saturday is the day when some say Jesus went into hell and proclaimed victory over all held captive there. It's a day of waiting. A day of contrasts. For post Easter people we know what's coming, that hope is just around the corner. What are you waiting for? For what do you hope?

Good Friday nails. They nailed Jesus to a cross but His love for you would have kept Him there.

Carrying on the theme of my liturgical nails... Maundy Thursday nails. Jesus prays in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Father not my will but yours be done."

Palm Sunday nails."

VV Challenge - Day 21: Typography

Help lovelies!

My gorgeous friend Judith from is today's guest blogger (make sure to check out her blog) xo

When Stephanie needed some help completing her currentblog challenge, I volunteered as this would give me an ideal opportunity to do a daily challenge, without committing to 30 or 31 days.

Today’s challenge is Typography, which I instantly leapt on as I did Typography and Graphic Communication in my first year at University.  I could imagine sketching out a font on my nails, or imitating letterpress, or using newspaper to transfer print on to my nails. I had loads of ideas. However, I have a confession: I am the world’s worst at nail art. I have great designs in my head that just do not translate onto my nail. It was the same with art at school. I don’t know why I think it will have changed after all these years!

So for today’s challenge I give you: Rebel Nail Wraps!  I had been looking for a reason to use these since I got them months ago.  But, I was saving them for a “special occasion”, that never happened.  These nail wraps have writing on them, and they are printed, so I decided that they would cover “typography”.

I didn’t take a photo before I used them, so here’s a picture of the packet afterwards.

This was the first time I had properly tried to do wraps. I even found a hairdryer! You get 16 in the pack, two of eight sizes. Handily there is a template included which you can use to decide which size fits your nail bed without having to peel off the actual sticker.

You apply these to a clean, unpolished nail (eek!), file off the excess and apply heat (hairdryer) to “melt” the glue on to your nail. Sounds simple? Well, it was OK ish on my left hand but I struggled with my right hand. The wraps are quite thick and take a lot of filing off, and my nails suffered a bit from over eager filing. Also, I think I must have funny sized nail beds, as none of the sizes quite fitted properly.

But hey, as I first attempt, I think they look good (from a distance).

You can get Rebel Nail wraps from here:  and they have a sale on at the moment.  These were purchased with my own hard earned cash.

VV Challenge - Day 20: Your Favourite Season

Hello lovelies!

Day 20 - Your Favourite Season

Today's post comes to you from my lovely friend Emma!

Hi Steph's followers! When Steph asked if anyone wanted to do a guest post to participate in the Valiantly Varnished quirky nail art challenge I was feeling pretty creative and after a long day at work I decided to give it a go. So here we are at day 20, your favourite season. Now all 4 seasons are pretty awesome to me so there stood the first challenge in itself, which to choose?! After much careful consideration whilst watching bake off I've gone with winter, mainly due to the fact I'm loving wearing boots and jumpers again 😊 that's not to say I don't love a bikini too, but hey I've been in sandals for 5 months now it's boot time! So my 5 nails are 5 things to me that say winter to me.

Number 1: the one the only, it's Santa! The big fella is the ultimate man in the winter season, and an obvious choice for a winter nail.

Number 2: a snowflake. The last few winters we've had some decent snow here in London, and there's no better winter scene than freshly laid snow.
I always think the world looks so peaceful when the snow is untouched!

Following on from that is number 3, who else but a snowman?! Well actually a snow lady who I have named Elizabeth. Maybe this winter I'll actually make Liz a reality!

Number 4: falling snowflakes. This reminds me of being stranded in new York this year and it starting to snow, the snowflakes were so beautiful.

Rounding off the winter theme is a New Years firework at number 5. I just adore watching the London fireworks at New Years, particularly 2012's show which rounded off a great year to be British.

I used Barry M Blue Moon, China Glaze Luxe and Lush, China Glaze Ruby Pumps, Nails Inc Mayfair and an assortment of striper polishes that I got from poundland. Doing this mani has reminded me why I love Ruby Pumps so much!

So that's the end of my winter nails and blog time, unless Steph will have me back sometime 😊

I'll leave you with one final pic of the ultimate winter scene shot in New York City, Feb 2013 😊

A England - Briar Rose (Sleeping Beauty)

Hello lovelies!

So I'm laptopless at the moment so I'm making do with iPhone posts. I hope to stay on track/catch up with the Valiantly Varnished Challenge but with holidays and a new job I'll have to wait see.

Here's a quick mani I'm wearing now. A England - Briar Rosé, a dusky holographic pink. I admit I bought it purely for the name, I love Sleeping Beauty!

I wore this to my new job, I was pleased to find I was still allowed nail polish. Thought I'd break them in gently lol.

VV Challenge - Day 17: Your Cinderella Hand

Hello lovelies!

Day 17 - Your Cinderella Hand.

This mani couldn't have been planned at a worse time as my pinkie nail snapped right off.

I went with it though using George (by Asda) Blue Denim Effect Nails and using a nail art pen I added some yellow stitching details.
I also used H&M - New Moon for a bit of glitz on my accent nail.

VV Challenge - Day 16: Water Spotted

Hello lovelies!

Day 16 - Water Spotted

Ok I hold my hands up! I used the OPI Spotted polish cuz I'm far too lazy to create my own (though I have attempted it previously and I discovered that tresemme my preferred hairspray doesn't really work).

I used Catrice - Miss Piggy's BF for undies - I won this from the lovely Gillian at An Irish Nail Addict
