Time Periods - Roaring 20s

Hi all!

Today's time period is the Roaring 20's and I was a bit stumped with this until some friends suggested searching Art Deco as it originated in the 20's.

Polishes used:
OPI - Candlelight
OPI - Hi, Pumpkin
OPI - A-Rose from the Dead
Models Own Nail Art Pen - Black

When I was looking at it initially I thought it was defined enough so decided to outline 2 nails, which I immediately regretted, but at least I know for the future.

Here's my inspiration.

We're time jumping to the 50s next week =)

NOTD: Sinful Colors - Soul Mate and Barry M - Ruby Glitter

Hello lovelies!

I decided to play about with a few untried's today so here we have Sinful Colors - Soul Mate and Barry M - Ruby Glitter.

Soul Mate is a lovely muted coral, it had a really nice formula and was perfect in 2 coats.

I can't believe I've not tried Ruby Glitter before now!  I bought this when it came out.
I've seen it over nude colours and it looks well.

Fine black glitters with larger black and pink hexes.
This was only 1 coat so plenty of coverage.

This is an unexpected mani which turned out to be a favourite.

NOTD: No.7 - Betty Blues

Hello lovelies!!

Today I'm trying out Betty Blues by No.7, I got this in Boots for £3.00 courtesy of their £3.00 off beauty vouchers. (I also nabbed their normally £7.00 for £2.00 thanks to the £5.00 off skin care voucher, what a good time to stock up!)

In the bottle it was like a navy blue version of Nails Inc - Bow Street, on the nail however it was disappointing.

I was also keen to try out the crushed pink shell I won from Wendy's Delights.
Having watched a YouTube tutorial I thought I knew when doing but turns out I didn't. Nowhere near as neat or shiny.

I then made things worse by adding a coat of Sally Hansen - Rose Opal. Not entirely sure what was going through my head lol.

Have you ever used crushed shell?  Any tips?
